The highly anticipated ‘Command of the Oceans’ galleries, a new permanent display at The Historic Dockyard Chatham – the most complete dockyard from the heyday of the ‘Age of Sail’ to survive anywhere in the world – will open to the public on 26 May 2016.

A big-zoo animal park in Bristol has been carrying special healthcare-led training exercises with a family of four giraffes to provide cutting-edge welfare.

Stumpy the Meerkat and Mrs Meerkat have always been very popular residents of the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife & Falconry Centre near Sheffield, and staff are thrilled to announce that they have produced a baby meerkat.
 
Meerkat babies, called pups, are born underground, where they are safe from predators. At birth, pups weigh between 25 and 36 grams, in addition to being small, pups are also born blind, deaf and almost hairless, and the whole family pitches in to help raise the new additions.

This summer improvements have been made to the Access facilities at The Bristol Hippodrome.

For those of you who might not be aware, “Access” refers to the in-house facilities for patrons with disabilities.  The theatre staff have always been passionate about ensuring that all patrons needs are met and are the proud winners of Bronze awards for Access and Inclusivity in both the South West Tourism awards 2014 and the VisitEngland awards 2015. The attraction has over 3,500 Access patrons who regularly book with us each year.
