Pond dipping

Join us as we dip our nets into the Minsmere pond, to search for what life is present, then discover more about Minsmere’s wildlife on a fun nature ramble.
£2 per child, plus reserve entry fees. No booking required.

Minsmere’s minibeasts
April: Tue 4, Tue 11
10 am – 4 pm
Meet some of Minsmere’s minibeasts on our bug hunting trail and help to make a Minsmere Bug Hotel. £2 per child, plus reserve entry fees. No booking required. 
Living art, Easter crafts and family nature walks
April: Wed 5, Wed 12
10 am to 4 pm
Time to get messy as you make some Easter gifts for your family. Take home some living art such as cress animals. You can also discover more about Minsmere’s spring wildlife on a fun nature ramble.  First walk: 11 am
£2 per child per activity, or £3 for both activities, plus reserve entry fees. Book on the day
Bird ringing demonstrations
April: Thurs 6, Thurs 13
10 am – 4 pm
Waveney Bird Club’s ringing demonstrations are not to be missed.  They offer unique and rare opportunities to experience close encounters with the Minsmere birds - blue tits, green finches and the highly camouflaged reed warblers – you never know what you might see!  Join us to discover more about the lives of the Minsmere birds, what migration adventures they have and the important work the club do every year. No booking required. Usual reserve entry fees only.
Minsmere @70 wildlife walk

Start at 9.15 am (3-4 hours)
Explore the seasonal sights and sounds at Minsmere, discover some of our amazing wildlife and learn about key moments in Minsmere’s 70 year history during this guided walk with our friendly and knowledgeable guides. 
Swarovski European launch tour

Binocular and telescope specialists Swarovski Optik are launching their exciting new BTX binocular-telescope range this spring, with Minsmere one of the destinations for their European tour. Be one of the first to try it at Minsmere. There will be a wide range of binoculars and telescopes to try, and expert advice on choosing the best one for you.

How many of Minsmere’s 5700 species can we find in a week? Our guides will be on hand to help you to spot many of Minsmere’s birds, bugs and plants.
